Thrifting has been a growing passion for many people and, luckily with the internet and things like Pinterest and TikTok, it is easier than ever to share experiences and tips on how to spot bigger and better finds. This includes tidbits, such as the one element on Goodwill furniture you should never pass up on, as shared by ThriftxCore!

Let's say you are heading to your local Goodwill or another similar thrift store and you are looking up and down the furniture aisles, wondering which item will do you the most good when it comes to a furniture flip.

You pass up on a ton of pieces that might work, with none of them quite calling out to you. One piece catches your eye, dingy and dirty, maybe with a few scuff marks on it, and you are right about to pass it up until you find one specific sight that really catches your eye and makes the purchase of that piece of furniture a no-brainer.

What is that aspect, you might be wondering?

It just so happens to be a series of Knapp Joints, as you can see in the video. These kinds of joints, also called Pin and Cove or Half Moon joints, are visually unique and very rare, since they were actually only used for about thirty years before being replaced by the machine slash mass-produced cut dovetail joints we see even today.

Why is this important? Because that short thirty years goes all the way back to the late Victoria Era circa 1867-1897. That's right. If you spot a piece of furniture with this kind of joint then the piece is already over a hundred years old! Do whatever you need to do to purchase and flip this piece of history and you won't regret it!
