Thieves ripped thousands of pounds worth of 'display phones' from the shelves of a North Staffordshire shop - in the middle of the day. Officers investigating the incident at Newcastle's EE store have released CCTV images of three men they want to speak to about the raid.

It comes as officers continue to investigate the theft which took place at around 3.40pm on August 18. The incident, which happened while the Castle Walk shop was open, also caused 'a considerable amount of damage'.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "We have released CCTV stills of three men we would like to speak to as part of our investigation into the theft of thousands of pounds worth of goods from a store in Newcastle.

"At around 3.40pm on August 18, a number of display phones were taken from EE on Castle Walk. A considerable amount of damage was also caused to the store.

"Anyone who recognises the men pictured or has any information that could help with our investigation is asked to get in touch."

Anyone with information should call Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident 455 of August 18.
